Overview
A service provider needed to strengthen its backbone while avoiding dependence on a single manufacturer. The project focused on aggregation switching, transceivers and accessories that could fit existing operational habits.
Challenges
The network had to scale traffic capacity while keeping compatibility with already deployed optical modules and routes. A simple replacement list was not enough because uplink strategy, optical budget and future growth had to be considered together.
Solutions
DCNE prepared several switching and optics variants, compared the trade-offs and mapped accessories to the planned routes. The final recommendation gave the operator a flexible path for aggregation upgrades.
